some notes on the honeymoon
Saturday the 2nd: My Mom and Dad gave Jody and I a ride to Salem. We stopped along the way for lunch at a Chili's. Jody was not feeling too well because of low blood sugar. He downed a big chilled mug of milk and two mugs of ice water before his meal arrived. We made it to Salem- and it was hot! I took a nap and Jody took a walk to BigK- that is, he scoped out what was nearby our hotel, the Howard Johnson. We stayed there Saturday, Sunday, and Monday nights.
Monday the 4th: This was the best day of the honeymoon. After breakfast we headed for a sale at Value village, where we picked up two antique beaters, two books, two pairs of pants for Jody, and a beautiful shawl for me- all 1/2 price. Next we walked into town, through the Willamette University campus, and on to the waterfront park. From there we went to the Thai food restaurant in the mall (yummy) From there we went to the bus mall, where a free shuttle was going out to the state fair. We saw many animals, including some awesome little goats (nigerian dwarfs) and bunnies looking like tribbles (Star Trek reference), fuzzy chickens, and emu. For activities we made a tree cookie and rode a ski-lift-esque ride across the fairgrounds- very fun. We also saw a beautiful garden set up, some wonderful photographs in a display, and all sorts of craft work. We took the shuttle back downtown and walked to the hotel. Then we went out and picked up some dinner. A lovely day.
Tuesday 5th: we got up at 5am and as I combed out my mess of hair, Jody went and got a few plants for us to transplant. We left the hotel at about 6 and made it to the busmall in time to catch the 6:45 to Willsomville, where we just caught the bus to the barbur transit center. From there, Jody went to work and I went home. So there ends my honeymoon tale.
